Spawned
on the breaks scene in the late 90's in London, brothers Dan and
TJ Rayner were either recording, in A&R meetings, or getting
slick at 333 Old Street and Friction, frequently rubbing shoulders
with the likes of likes of Orbital, Freq Nasty, Rennie Pilgrem,
Adam Freeland and Dave Tipper. Around this time the brothers were
signed as Hijinx to Bolshi/Biglife.
After a considerable amount of time spent at the Abbey, dBs rehomed
themselves within their studio 'Controlled Environment' and began
delving into the world of synchronisation (composition to picture),
spewing forth remixes and for those who could afford them, licensing
music.
Now and then dB's, along with kindred spirit Alex Baker, drummer,
who was introduced to them by Keiron Pepper( Prodigy) and MC ADD(
Transformer de Roboter) ventured out of the studio to perform a
few DJ sets, before finally meeting up with Pitchshifter to add
their breaks influence on their 'PSI' album. After this awesome
collaboration, Dan was asked to join Pitchshifter, and soon after
TJ followed suit.
The rest is history. Now welcome to the future!! |
